The PLL (Premier Lacrosse League) kicked off last weekend in Boston, Massachusetts with five action-packed games! The opening match on Friday evening turned out to be a barn burner between the Cannons and Redwoods, while close games filled up the rest of the weekend. Only the Archers/Atlas matchup proved to be a blowout, yet still exciting with the Archers highflying 18-point scoring offense.

After dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19 throughout their organization, the Ravens nearly took down the undefeated Steelers with a depleted team. The game was rescheduled twice for player safety, resulting in a 5:00 p.m. Wednesday showdown.

Baltimore battled their way to a 24-10 victory on Sunday, outlasting a tough Indianapolis team lead by their defense. Down 10-7 at halftime, the Ravens scored 17 unanswered points in the final quarters to seal their sixth victory this season. Lamar Jackson had a solid rushing performance with 58 yards and a touchdown, while the Ravens defense took care of Philip Rivers and company.

Baltimore felt the pain of their team crashing back down to earth on Monday night. The Chiefs delivered a humbling loss to the Ravens, with a final score of 34-20. Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes put on a show, throwing four touchdowns and running another in himself. Coach John Harbaugh admitted that the team got beat in just about every way. This is a night the Ravens would like to forget, yet still learn from. A playoff rematch between these two juggernauts seems imminent.

The Harford Swim League (HSL) capped off its 8-week season with their Championship Meet on July 21-22. The meet format included over 1,000 swimmers competing at three pools – Fountain Green Swim Club, Aberdeen Swim Center and Magnolia Middle School.
